Interior Design Trends in Islamabad Homes in 2026

We are not seeing empty white rooms this year. Clean, yes. Cold, no. People still want a tidy living room. They also want wood, fabric, and a bit of colour so the house does not feel like a show flat.

Most jobs that come into our F-10 Markaz studio are not full house renovations. One window. One wall. One sofa. That is the usual request. Here is what clients have been asking for in 2026.

Warmer colour, not another white wall

White and grey are still around. They are just not the automatic pick anymore. Beige, sand, olive, brown, terracotta sit better with Islamabad light, especially next to wood. If you are changing sofa fabrics or curtains, those warmer colours also hide daily wear better than a very light cream.

Stop matching every cloth

The same fabric on the sofa, the cushions, and the curtains looks dated now. A linen look sofa with a couple of velvet cushions feels more finished. Or a plain sofa with a printed curtain. That only works if the base cloth is decent. Cheap fabric in two textures still looks cheap.

If you are still stuck on material, start with our note on how to choose sofa and curtain fabric in Islamabad, then browse the fabrics page.

Windows have to work, not just look nice

Sun and street view. Those two come up in almost every visit. Some rooms need curtains. Some need window blinds. Bedrooms often need blackout curtains. Living rooms that face the road often do better with zebra blinds, or a curtain with a sheer behind it.

A few clients ask for motorised blinds. That is fine. We just do not want the room to look like a gadget display. The blind should disappear when you are not using it.

One feature wall, not a full wrap

Loud print on every wall is rare this year. One feature wall is common. Wallpaper behind the sofa or the bed. Wall panels if you want texture without a pattern. In smaller apartments this is useful. You get a new look without moving the furniture around.

Wood on the floor, softer shapes in the room

Wooden flooring still makes sense here. Summer and winter both. Sofas and tables with softer edges are showing up more. You do not have to replace everything. One less boxy sofa or coffee table is usually enough.

If you can only do one thing

If the room feels too open to the street, start with the window. If the seating looks tired, change the sofa fabric. If the walls feel blank, add wallpaper or a panel on one wall. Look at the floor only if the floor is what you notice first.

Bring photos to Shop No. 4, Peer Plaza, F-10 Markaz, or start from the products pages and message us the room. A trend only works if it matches how you actually live in the house.
